Storm Athletics was established back in 2014 in the town of Gosport. Head Coach and programme director Sarah Carlin was completing her teacher training at a local school when she decided to run an after school club using her knowledge and experience in the sport of cheerleading.

The class quickly grew to the point where the club needed its own premises to continue its expansion and development. In 2018 they secured a gym and fitted it out with a full sprung floor and a large amount of equipment to help the athletes progress further.

Storm Athletics has now moved into a larger unit spanning over 700sq meters, with 2 sprung floors, recreational floor and a further floor. This provides a safe and fun environment to over 350 athletes. The club have continued to work in the community with a number of charities and outreach programmes.

In 2020 the club won a paid bid to compete at The Summit in Orlando, Florida representing the UK in the championship of ‘the best of the best’. However, due to Covid-19 were unable to attend. Storm Athletics attended Summit for the first time in 2022 achieving 4th in the world. The club is taking 2 teams to the Summit in 2023 and 3 teams to the Allstar World Championships.
